Ronaldinho's debut Serie A goal gave Milan the Derby della Madonnina to end Inter's undefeated record, but Nicolas Burdisso saw red!
This was an all-star derby and both teams brought out the big guns. Carlo Ancelotti was without the injured Marco Borriello, Andrea Pirlo, Alessandro Nesta and Pippo Inzaghi, so he unveiled the Brazilian trio of Ronaldinho, Kaka and Alexandre Pato. Jose Mourinho went with Ricardo Quaresma, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Amantino Mancini.
This was Mourinho's first derby, although he had met Ancelotti once before, losing the European Super Cup with Porto. ROME (AFP) — AC Milan's world player of the year Kaka says a victory over Italian champions Inter Milan in Sunday's city derby would be great but it is consistency that his team needs the most.
Milan lost their first two games of the season as high profile new signings Ronaldinho and Andrei Shevchenko failed to inspire them.
They have since won three matches - two in Serie A and one in the UEFA Cup - but the Brazilian playmaker insists that beating the small teams is even more important than a win over Jose Mourinho's Inter.
"Right now we've won three matches in a row, and that's important because beating Lazio or Inter is great but you also have to find the motivation to play against Reggina on a rainy Wednesday night," he told Gazzetta dello Sport.

Milan president Silvio Berlusconi has revealed the club never received any €150m for Kaka during the summer transfer window.
Reports in Italy claimed that Chelsea had made a mega €150m offer for the Brazilian super star and that the Italian side were considering the deal.
However, Berlusconi has rubbished the claims and he is adamant that there was never any maxi-bid for his star man.
"Adriano come here and explain everything. Would I have accpeted such an offer? No. But I should have been informed. Jokes aside, these 'offers' never happened," Berlusconi told La Gazzetta Dello Sport.
"Milan's market was dealt with and well planned. The fans asked for Ronaldinho and he arrived. As soon as he got onto the pitch he gave a spectacular show."

The Rossoneri had surprisingly found themselves bottom of the table after two consecutive losses to Bologna and Genoa to start off their Serie A campaign, but they responded with a scintillating performance last night as they defeated Lazio 4-1 at the San Siro.
Kaka was among the scorers for Milan and made several of his trademark mazy runs during the course of the match. The Brazilian midfielder is now confident his team are on the right track again.
"We discussed this week that we are not a bunch of individuals, but a united team and that is what we proved tonight," revealed Kaka.
"There is a long way to go yet, but you can already see the improvements and this will be a good example for the future."

Milan star Kaka has revealed his penchant for Inter coach Jose Mourinho and he admits Cristiano Ronaldo deserves the Golden Ball.
The Brazilian has had a turbulent few months as he was hampered with injury but he has made his return.
The playmaker has spoken of all things calcio, including his and Milan’s recent woes. Kaka has also revealed that he has taken to Jose Mourinho’s humorous style.
“I like Mourinho a lot. I think his comments are hilarious and they always fill up the papers but they are never mean, they are funny,” Kaka told Il Giornale.
“He is a great person and I like him and I think he is a great coach.
“Me? It has been difficult recently because of injury and I missed the Olympics, World Cup qualifiers as well as some of the new season with Milan. It wasn’t easy but it’s ok.
