MADRID, Spain (AP) -- Kaka has passed his medical examination at Real Madrid and is set to be presented as Florentino Perez's first big signing since returning as president.

The Brazil playmaker arrived in Madrid Tuesday from South Africa, where his country won the Confederations Cup and he was named the tournament's best player.

Madrid says Kaka's test results showed "his condition is perfect for playing football at the highest level."

Kaka will don Madrid's jersey at a ceremony Tuesday evening at Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.

Madrid acquired him this month from AC Milan for $92 million. The 2007 world player of the year has agreed to a six-year contract with Madrid and will team up with Cristiano Ronaldo, the current world player of the year.

The Brazilian maestro expressed his admiration for the young French midfielder who did not have the opportunity to prove himself with the Rossoneri.

New Real Madrid forward Kaka has stated that Bordeaux midfielder Yoann Gourcuff is destined to achieve great things in the future.

Both players were at AC Milan for two seasons between 2006 and 2008, with the Brazilian player remaining impressed with the skills shown by his younger team-mate.

However, his lack of first team opportunities forced Gourcuff to move to France to play for Bordeaux the following season.

"Gourcuff is a player with great talent," declared Kaka to L'Equipe.

"He's fantastic, if he continues like this, at the end of his career he will be remembered in football history, I'm sure of this.

During his two seasons with the Rossoneri, the 22-year-old player played a total of 36 Serie A matches, contributing two goals for his side.

The midfield duo are clearly disappointed with the loss of Kaka…

Milan midfielders Clarence Seedorf and Massimo Ambrosini have expressed their thoughts following Kaka's move to Spanish giants Real Madrid, and it seems both men are disappointed.

The Brazilian joined los Merengues last night and the move has been attracting plenty of attention. A number of critics have expressed their opinions on the transfer, which has caused a predictable storm of disappointment in the Rossoneri camp.

"It's a big loss for Milan, but we will remain a big team. If Kaka wants I can advise him about Madrid," Seedorf told Il Corriere Dello Sport.

Ambrosini is feeling a sense of great loss as Kaka was a major influence on the team.

"’Ricky’ [Kaka] is a great friend of mine and I am sorry that he has left. However, I want to wish him the best of luck for his new adventure in Madrid," added the Italian.

Sky Sport Italia suggests the mood a... Read more »

The Milan great has cast derision on the Kaka sale, blaming the player and club for starting a time bomb that will lead to the club's downfall...

Former Milan midfielder Zvonimir Boban has hit out at Kaka's Real Madrid transfer, stating that the player's claims of wanting to stay at the Italian club were false.

The Brazilian joined Los Merengues in the early hours of Tuesday morning in a mega six-year deal. According to La Gazzetta Dello Sport, Kaka revealed he would have liked to have remained at the Rossoneri, claiming the economic factors pushed and pulled him to Spain.

However, Boban is not impressed. The former player believes Kaka would have stayed if he really wanted to.

"I am disappointed with the fact that Kaka spoke about an eternal love and then in the end it was all false because he wanted to go," Boban roared to Sky Sport Italia. “Milan wanted to sell. That's the reality and people must not hide from it.

Kaka has finally addressed the press in Recife, Brazil following official confirmation of his €65 million transfer to Real Madrid from Milan.

The 27-year-old playmaker has revealed why he and the club decided to part company, while he also looked forward to a challenging future with Los Blancos.

"My desire was to stay at Milan, but the world financial crisis has affected a lot of clubs, especially Milan," he told the media.

"As such, I spoke with the Milan board and we concluded that the best thing for everyone would be to sell me."

The Galactico Challenge

The playmaker had been expected to take over Zinedine Zidane's famous No. 5 jersey at the Santiago Bernabeu, but he has politely declined the offer.

The historic transfer is now complete and the former Ballon d'Or winner is set to follow in the footsteps of a certain Galactico before him...

Kaka, having signed for Real Madrid, will take the No. 5 shirt recently made famous by Zinedine Zidane, according to various reports.

The Brazilian has signed in the most lucrative deal in the history of football, believed to be in the region of €63-8 million, which is of more value than the €73m Zidane transfer of 2001.

Following Zidane's world record switch, he surprised the adoring public when he chose to wear the No. 5 shirt that had just been vacated by the legendary Manuel Sanchis.

The Frenchman spent five fantastic years at the Santiago Bernabeu in which he was the club's star player and won the Champions League, European Super Cup, Intercontinental Cup, Primera Divison and the Spanish Super Cup.

Upon his retirement, another legend arrived from Juventus, Fabio Cannavaro, fresh off the ... Read more »

The club's new official has claimed that Kaka's future has already been decided - after a fashion, at least...

Real Madrid's advisor to president Florentino Perez, former France international Zinedine Zidane, has claimed that AC Milan's Brazilian star Kaka has already penned a deal with the Primera Division giants.

However, the manner in which he did so was most unusual.

"Kaka has already signed for Madrid, no?" he said during a press conference in Rome, that was in honour of former Giallorossi defender Vincent Candela's farewell match, according to El Mundo Deportivo.

A number of sources over the past couple of days have been adamant that Kaka was on the verge of joining los Blancos, but Zidane looked as though he was about to become the first to confirm the deal.

"I will be happy if he takes my No. 5, I will not be jealous," he joked.

However, he seemed to track back a bit from his original claim as he continued ... Read more »

News of his impending transfer to the La Liga giants has been gaining momentum since this afternoon when it was rumoured Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani and Kaka's father/agent were in the capital to negotiate a deal.
